What to look for when choosing an auger juicer
Comfort and quality during operation depend on the type of device. Inexpensive centrifugal juicers undoubtedly work quickly, leaving a high percentage of moisture in the food. In the case of auger devices, you have to spend a little more time, but with benefit. Due to the low spin speed, the design does not make noise, does not heat up, and the valuable properties of fruits and vegetables are preserved in the finished juice.
To choose a good auger juicer, you need to consider several criteria:
- Manufacturer. Popular brands carefully control the quality of their products, so foreign-made juicers (Moulinex, Philips, etc.) are especially in demand. Among budget domestic analogues, it is worth taking a closer look at the manufacturers Kitfort or Redmond.
- Power. For domestic use, the optimal indicator is 200-500 W. If we are talking about devices with a continuously adjustable speed option, the power may be slightly higher.
- Number of augers. Most juicer models have one auger, and this is enough for standard use. If you regularly work with hard or fibrous products, it is better to look at models with 2 augers.
- Additional functions. The usual automatic pulp ejection or the “drop-stop” option is present in almost every screw unit today. Comfortable operation is facilitated by the presence of such functions as “mill”, protection against overloads/accidental switching on, the ability to prepare fruit and vegetable purees, smoothies, etc.
Another important parameter is the form factor. There are horizontal and vertical auger juicers on the market. The former are characterized by slow operation and do not function without a pusher - they can be used for squeezing juices from soft foods or herbs. Therefore, vertical models are considered more versatile and efficient.

Advantages and disadvantages of auger juicers
Unlike centrifugal juicers, auger juicers produce less noise during operation. A low rotation speed of the screw produces up to 50 dB, and in premium units with good sound insulation this figure does not exceed 30 dB.
There are other advantages of purchasing an auger juicer:
- Saving electricity . The mechanism does not require a powerful motor, since the maximum rotation speed of the auger is 80 rpm. The power of 200 W is quite enough for home use.
- High extraction rate even for soft vegetables, fruits and berries. The spent cake turns out to be almost dry, since more than 75% of the liquid is squeezed out, which is twice the performance of centrifugal devices.
- More homogeneous juice that does not separate or oxidize for up to two days. Preparing the drink without heating during the squeezing process preserves a maximum of vitamins and microelements.
Auger juicers can handle any product, including seeds, nuts, frozen, hard or fibrous vegetables/fruits/herbs. There are also disadvantages of designs with a screw:
- The need for preliminary preparation of products. Even in devices with a wide loading neck, it is worth cutting fruits that are too large into several parts.
- Short duration of continuous operation. Despite the absence of overheating of the motor, screw structures cannot process a large volume of raw materials if the process drags on for more than half an hour. After 30 minutes, the locking thermostat will operate, turning off the engine.
- The presence of pulp in the finished juice. When working with soft foods or berries, the user may end up with a liquid puree instead of juice.
Another disadvantage is the high cost compared to centrifugal juicer models. Adherents of a healthy lifestyle with limited funds simply cannot afford premium-class auger equipment. However, a large range of units, including budget ones, allows you to choose the best option in terms of price/quality ratio.

Kitfort KT-1101-3
Stylish, takes up little space, easy to disassemble and clean, auger, healthy juice, low power consumption, dry pulp It took me a very long time to choose a juicer, based on the experience of the previous device (Braun). The prerequisites were: auger, dry cake, easy to disassemble and assemble, easy to clean, stylish design, price up to 6000. A long study of reviews, reviews, and characteristics led me to this particular model. Which I am very happy about! This is definitely one of the best purchases I've made in a long time! Now every evening we drink delicious freshly squeezed juice, and what combinations of fruits can be squeezed, mmm. Thank you Kitfort!

Easy to assemble/disassemble, for me personally it’s comfortable and quick to wash it (even though I don’t like it), it’s convenient that there’s a brush in the kit for cleaning the metal mesh. Specifically about the juice, it turns out extremely tasty, we always make it with as much pulp as possible. It feels like it squeezes out everything that is there from fruits and vegetables, because... There is a lot of pulp, but the cake remains tasteless and dry as paper. Quiet, comfortable model, takes up relatively little space during use and during storage. The instructions say not to make more juice than the volume of one container at a time, but this is more than enough for two people to get drunk. If anything happens, we just do another approach after half an hour, but after that we definitely get saturated with juice that day.

I wouldn’t want to look like a hired advertiser, but I was actually really pleased with this purchase. The instructions for the juicer immediately made a favorable impression. A well-written, detailed, thoughtful, decently printed brochure, and not just a piece of clumsily xeroxed paper, as is now widespread. The juicer itself, although entirely made of plastic (which the manufacturer does not hide), looks not only powerful, but also beautiful. Now let’s get to the point. Kitfort KT-1111 was purchased in addition to the brilliantly proven Philips centrifugal juicer, which does an excellent job with apples, but is completely unsuitable for squeezing juice from, for example, grapes or lemongrass. Actually, we conducted our tests with these crops. And here are the results. The juicer handled the grapes with a minus five. From one and a half kilograms of grapes, we got 1.3 liters of juice. The juicing procedure itself did not cause any worries. The berries had to be pushed, the cake came out completely dry to the touch, but the juice had to be strained later (that’s a minus). The fact is that during the pressing process some of the grape seeds were destroyed and some of the destroyed got into the juice. The juice turned out to be “with a stone”. So the juice had to be further strained. The lemongrass turned out to be too tough for the juicer. It has a very large bone; when squeezed, it was completely destroyed and, of course, ended up in the juice. Moreover, there were so many seeds in the juice and such a small fraction that it was not possible to strain it out with reasonable efforts. I had to return to the prosaic manual squeezing through a sieve. Summary. 1. I am definitely satisfied with the purchase. 2. The juicer gives the impression of a quality product. 3. The juice extracts well, but don’t expect miracles.

I used to have a regular centrifugal juicer that made a terrible noise and shook while working. When the time came to replace it, I decided to purchase a more modern model. My choice fell on a beautiful Italian SMEG auger juicer from a designer line in the style of the 50s. The juicer of this model is convenient and easy to clean, does not heat the juice and retains all the benefits of vegetables and fruits. Another advantage is that you do not need to peel the peel before cooking, and there is a special lever on the body that can be used to adjust the thickness of the juice. This is exactly the case when impeccable style is combined with modern technology.

dry cake, powerful, easy to assemble, durable - this is what I have been looking for and choosing for so long! I’m one hundred percent satisfied, the cake is absolutely dry, it squeezes out at normal speed, squeezes everything out, very easily (I don’t even press). makes frozen desserts. berries with cottage cheese. what a miracle! and it stays in place statically, doesn’t rattle, it’s easy to wash in no time (it takes me two minutes to wash, it also comes with a special brush) + you can run a glass of water through it, which makes washing easier, I’ve been using it for about a month. This is the only option with such an aluminum base and screws, which is very durable, and it is small and compact.

From the rubber feet so that it doesn’t slip, until it turns on, as if alive, it squeaks, a second passes, and then the singing begins. It's not a buzzing sound, it's quiet. I was expecting to see a bulky machine that would obviously not decorate the kitchen, but... I took it out of the box and my heart began to babble!!! It looks miniature, I would even say stylish, I didn’t get such impressions from the photo. Reasons for the form. Easy to assemble, easy to assemble and disassemble. The details are tight. In my previous juicer they were flimsy, it shook, I had to hold it with my hands. And she works at Kitkof herself, it’s such a thrill!!! The cake is dry (as much as possible), and you get a lot of juice! I didn’t even expect that you can get a whole glass of juice from one orange! It's love at first sight for now, let's see how it behaves over time

I would call this juicer professional, since it is “serious” and is designed for daily work with heavy loads. I bought it at the beginning of the year for a bar; we have freshly squeezed juices and smoothies on our menu. Therefore, it was a universal option for me, since it partially replaces the blender and works in automatic mode. Even the thickness of the smoothie can be adjusted and set as desired. It is easy for employees to work with, since after each serving it is easy to wash it and start preparing another type of smoothie. It stands on our bar in the hall and even in working condition it does not create much noise, no more than a coffee machine.

It took me a long time to choose a juicer. I understand that quality should be worth the money, but at the moment I couldn’t pay 60 thousand for a juicer. Therefore, I searched for a long time so as not to buy something that was not suitable. For me, it was the auger juicer that operated at low speeds that was very important. My daughter (3 years old) and I make juice, she throws in the fruit herself (we haven’t squeezed out the vegetables yet, but we squeezed out greens and green buckwheat, and yes, it’s wonderful, it squeezes everything out). Regarding the shmoy, it comes out a little wet (oranges, tangerines), the rest of the shmoy is dry (apples), I think it’s ideal, nothing can be squeezed out of it. Washing is simple - immediately after spinning, I rinse it, clean it with a brush (included in the kit), and put it away. Everything is great!!!

It took me a long time to choose the right model. Also read: TOP 25 best juicers: 2021 rating by price/quality and which model to choose for vegetables and fruits
Korean screw squeezers are not affordable, so I chose in the range of up to 12,000 rubles. Ultimately, the choice fell on the Oursson juicer model JM7002. When choosing, we arranged: 1) power - 240 W, with less power it may not be able to handle grass and tough vegetables; 2) wide neck for whole fruits 75mm 3) cost. 4) the few reviews about it that I could find on the Internet. Moreover, there are practically no reviews about it itself; there are reviews about its predecessor Oursson JM8002. But it has a higher cost, lower power of 200W and a narrow neck. The squeezer turned out to be heavy, stable, beautiful, takes up little space on the table - this is the first impression))) I assembled all the plastic without instructions, it is surprisingly very easy to assemble (the main thing is that the red dots on the plastic coincide during assembly - this is very convenient). The seller did not deceive and the kit included everything that was promised to them. All declared technical characteristics are the same. I was pleasantly surprised by the almost silent sound of the engine. Not comparable to a centrifuge. The juice is squeezed out with pulp, does not separate, the pulp is very, very dry without solid pieces.

The juice is pulpy, homogeneous and very tasty. The only thing was that a whole large carrot didn’t work, I had to cut it into pieces. Well, in general, we realized that in order to make her work easier and extend the life of the motor, it is necessary to cut the fruits into pieces. It's not difficult and doesn't take long. They squeezed juice from carrots, beets, apples and pumpkins. I coped with all the products with 5+. The pumpkin made a very tasty puree (the final juice from this product apparently depends on the variety). We diluted pumpkin puree with apple juice - very tasty! Another big plus is that it is very easy to clean. I was able to wash it under a small stream of water. It’s nice, of course, that there is a special brush included in the kit, but I didn’t find it useful. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. I will continue to experiment with products. I wish you good luck in choosing and purchasing an auger juicer!

she squeezes out the juice!! You get high-quality and relatively pure juice from everything! plus I really like to watch how the auger spins and pieces of vegetables and fruits die in this infernal machine. The device is uncomplicated, intuitive and surprisingly easy to clean. It is clear that auger juicers are better and more reliable than centrifugal ones. and this option among auger ones is quite budget-friendly. alas, yes, you will have to pay for a reliable juicer, but if you are already terrified of having to shell out more than 5k, but want a juicer, this one will more than live up to your expectations.
