Electric scooters are rapidly gaining popularity among users. This is understandable, because when it comes to maneuverability, such vehicles have no competitors. With the increase in popularity, the number of models on the market has also increased. Among them there are both successful and not so successful. How to avoid running into a low-quality product and being left in the cold? You will find the answer to this and other questions in our rating, which contains the fastest electric scooters.
#10 – NINEBOT ES1
Price: 29,000 rubles
The most compact device that can be folded by pressing just one button. The list of advantages of the model also includes weight – 11 kg. Due to this, it can be safely recommended to people living in a multi-story building without an elevator or to those who plan to ride this electric scooter to the nearest metro station. Maximum speed – 20 km/h.
Another feature of the solution is the possibility of installing an additional battery. This will increase the range from 20 to 45 km. There is no need to worry about safety - it is provided by a shock absorber on the front wheel and an LED headlight. In addition to this, the brakes have an anti-lock braking system that reduces braking distance. The main disadvantage can be considered the fact that the model does not tolerate rain well.

How to choose an electric scooter by weight and size
The models presented by modern brands vary greatly in size and weight. These indicators depend on several factors:
- frame and steering wheel material;
- the presence of shock absorbers;
- battery size;
- wheel diameter.
The lighter the scooter, the more convenient it is to use. You can carry it in your hands, transport it on public transport, lift it into your apartment or take it to the office without much effort. Dimensions also play an important role. A large scooter will require a lot of storage space, and it is also inconvenient to ride on public transport.
If you plan to transport the scooter in the trunk, make sure before purchasing whether the new item fits in the car. On average, the trunk width of most sedans is 90-100 cm. Take this into account, or better yet, measure your own car.
The popular Ninebot KickScooter Max scooter weighs 18.5 kg, so it is inconvenient to transport on public transport.
Almost all city models have a folding design - they break in half near the front wheel (the steering wheel is lowered and combined with the deck). For example, the Ninebot Kickscooter Max is 113 cm long when folded, so it fits easily into the trunk of a mid-size sedan.
The weight of a two-wheeler is affected by the size of the battery and the diameter of the wheels. For example, a scooter with 8-inch wheels and a 12,000 mAh battery weighs about 13 kg. A model with 10-inch wheels and an 18,000 mAh battery will be almost twice as heavy - 21-24 kg.
When choosing the electric scooter of your dreams, you can pick up the model you like and walk around with it a little. If the scooter seems too heavy, take a look at a more compact option.
No. 9 – Xiaomi MiJia M365
Price: 35,700 rubles
In terms of speed, the ninth line of our rating is superior to the previous competitor - it can accelerate to 25 km/h. The design involves folding in half, which will allow you to take the solution with you to the office or carry it on the subway without any problems. The scooter has a decent range of 30 km. This is enough to get a good ride on the weekend. The well-thought-out brake system is also pleasing - even with sharp braking, you will only move 4 m.
Conveniently, the scooter can be used in conjunction with a smartphone, so you will be able to track speed and mileage. The key feature of Xiaomi MiJia M365 is considered to be high charging speed - the process will not last more than 5 hours. The design of the scooter also includes an LED headlight and water protection according to the IP54 standard, which will make it easy to travel on it even in the rain. The disadvantages include the lack of a display on the steering wheel.

Choosing the type of electric scooter wheels
Which electric scooter should an adult choose for the city or off-road so that it is comfortable to move around? Stores sell models with two types of wheels: polyurethane (cast) and pneumatic (inflatable). Both have strengths and weaknesses. Let's start with the advantages of pneumatic wheels:
- have good shock-absorbing properties;
- suitable for driving on wet roads;
- provide better braking;
- absorbs bumps better;
- almost silent.
The main advantages of polyurethane wheels:
- reliable and durable;
- have good grip on dry roads;
- wear out slowly;
- do not pierce;
- are not afraid of sudden temperature changes.
Polyurethane wheels are not suitable for driving on wet roads due to weak grip, so you need to be careful after rain. On cast wheels, the rider feels all the joints, cracks and bumps encountered along the way if the scooter does not have shock absorbers.
Inflatable wheels have to be inflated or deflated periodically. When the ambient temperature rises, the pressure in them increases, and when it gets colder it decreases. They can be punctured if you drive over broken glass or other sharp objects, which will require tire repair or replacement.
No. 8 – iconBIT Kick Scooter FF
Price: 29,490 rubles
The maximum speed of the eighth place in our top most powerful electric scooters is 30 km/h. The advantages include the light weight of the iconBIT Kick Scooter FF, which is 6.8 kg. Thus, even fragile girls or children will not have problems transporting the model. The high build quality is also worth mentioning - the whole structure looks reliable and there is no feeling that the scooter will fall apart after the first bump.
Control is extremely simple - the vehicle is turned on using a button on the steering wheel. Switching between three speed modes is carried out using adjacent keys. The disadvantages include the lack of moisture protection, which forces you to ride only in dry weather, as well as a guarantee, the terms of which are almost impossible to comply with.

No. 7 – KUGOO S3
Price: 12,000 rubles
This scooter easily folds in half and does not take up much space at home, plus it comes with a convenient storage case. The model is fast and can accelerate to 35 km/h, which is very good considering its cost. The power reserve is also pleasing – 30 km. Many will also appreciate the presence in the scooter’s arsenal of an informative display that displays battery charge, speed and mileage. True, its brightness reserve is poor.
A more significant drawback is the fact that the model does not tolerate moisture well, however, given the cost, this is not at all surprising. Before purchasing, you should also keep in mind that some copies have problems with the quality of materials.

Engine power and maximum speed of the electric scooter
First, let's find out how to choose an electric scooter for an adult for the city, taking into account the power of the vehicle. It is this that affects the maximum speed, and according to this parameter, all models can be divided into two large groups: with a maximum speed of up to 20-30 km/h and up to 50-60 km/h.
Maximum speed 20-30 km/h
Good for driving through parks, city sidewalks or well-trodden paths. If you plan to ride mainly in areas with pedestrians, you definitely won’t set any speed records. By the way, in Moscow, in crowded places, the speed for two-wheeled vehicles has been legally limited to 15 km/h.
In parks where vacationers walk, children rollerblade or ride bicycles, and young mothers walk with strollers, the average speed of movement on an electric scooter will be no more than 10-15 km/h. Thus, in Moscow, the speed of electric scooters near and in parks and in areas with a dense flow of pedestrians has already been limited to 15 km/h.
On straight sections without obstacles, 30-35 km/h can be considered a safe maximum. If you accelerate too much, it is easy to lose control - for example, if a pebble or pothole in the road gets under the wheel.
At a speed of more than 25-30 km/h, falling from an electric scooter is fraught with abrasions, dislocations and fractures.
Wear protective equipment. A helmet and gloves are required. It would be a good idea to purchase knee pads and elbow pads.
Maximum speed 50-60 km/h
Scooters from this category are full-fledged road users. Within the city on public roads, the average speed of cars is 55 km/h. On such a scooter you can confidently stay in the general flow of vehicles.
To move along city streets, you need to know the traffic rules and be able to drive an electric scooter well. As a rule, most motorists behave correctly and predictably towards cyclists and scooters. You need to remember that you absolutely cannot maneuver between cars - you can easily end up in the driver’s blind spot and get into an accident. When driving in traffic, you need to take a place in the column without trying to overtake.
A mandatory item for owners of high-speed electric scooters is to take care of the equipment. Life and health may depend on it. The minimum kit should include a helmet, a “turtle” (a rigid frame on the body that protects the back, elbows, chest, shoulders) and motorcycle gloves. When buying a scooter that reaches a speed of 50-60 km/h, be prepared to pay 10-15 thousand rubles for protective equipment - it’s better not to skimp on it.
How much power does a scooter need?
That speed indicators depend on the rated power of two-wheeled vehicles. If we draw a parallel between the two parameters, we get the following:
Electric scooter power, W | Maximum speed, km/h |
50-100 | 5-10 |
200-300 | 15-20 |
350-500 | 30-40 |
1000+ | 40-80 |
The ability to overcome steep climbs depends on power. For urban conditions, the optimal electric motor power for a user with a body weight of 70 to 90 kg is 350-500 W.
No. 6 – Micar Sprint S2 Pro 36V
Price: 24,900 rubles
Due to the carrying capacity of the Micar Sprint S2 Pro 36V equal to 120 kg, even large people can ride this scooter. Interestingly, the popular model starts moving on its own and does not need to push off the ground with your foot. Many people will also like the maximum speed of 40 km/h, this will allow you to get to work extremely quickly.
The list of advantages of the solution also includes the fact that it adheres equally well to both asphalt and unpaved surfaces. This was made possible thanks to the double suspension and 8-centimeter ground clearance. The disadvantages include the lack of moisture protection.
electric scooter Micar Sprint S2 Pro 36V
Is there a universal scooter?
Unfortunately no. You’ll have to figure out on your own how to choose an electric scooter for an adult and take into account all the nuances. Everyone should choose a model based on personal goals, preferences and budget. Completely different models are designed for leisurely short walks in the park and for driving on public roads.
The main criteria that should be given priority are power reserve, maximum speed and compactness. The presence of a headlight, on-board computer, and shock absorbers on both axles increases the level of comfort, but affects the price.
No. 5 – ZAXBOARD ZEUS 500W/36V
Price: 54,900 rubles
At the equator of the rating is a model that has won many praises from its owners. People love it not only for its speed of 38 km/h, but also for the high-quality materials used in its design. It is noteworthy that all the mechanisms of the scooter are coated with a special compound that protects the equipment from moisture and frost. Thus, if you plan to ride an electric scooter in adverse conditions, you are unlikely to find a better solution than ZAXBOARD ZEUS 500W/36V.
The design of the model is consistent, but diluted with notes of sporty style. There is also a bright LED strip on the steering column and deck, allowing the scooter to be visible on the road. Thanks to the double shock absorption system, you can ride the Zeus even on uneven roads, since all the bumps will be smoothed out. The disadvantages include the cost, but if you need an electric scooter for serious purposes, and not Sunday walks, in terms of price and quality ratio this is an extremely advantageous offer.

No. 4 – Kaabo Skywalker-10H 700W
Price: 49,900 rubles
Kaabo Skywalker-10H 700W is another model from the premium segment, which is in great demand around the world. This is due not only to its top speed of 40 km/h, but also to the fact that it comes with a removable seat, which will be useful for those pilots who often plan to travel long distances. All users, without exception, will also like the 10-inch wheels, which provide ideal traction on any type of road.
Considering the power reserve of 35 km, the model quickly replenishes its resources – it requires no more than 6 hours. Additional equipment is also worth mentioning, namely an on-board computer with an LCD display, a disc brake system, plastic wheel arch liners and double shock absorption. The disadvantages include high cost.

What should be the diameter of the wheels of an electric scooter?
The smaller the wheels, the lighter the scooter. But there are drawbacks: a scooter with small wheels is less maneuverable and overcomes bumps worse. For example, driving on paving stones or old cracked asphalt is uncomfortable due to strong shaking. A scooter with small wheels has a lower seating position, and the bottom can easily catch a small curb or step. This is dangerous for models that have a battery in the deck (bottom of the frame).
Ninebot KickScooter Max has large 10-inch wheels that confidently overcome many bumps.
The average for city scooters is 8 inches (18 cm). There are scooters with a diameter of 9-10 inches (22-25 cm). They are more massive, but they absorb shocks better and cope with shaking on any surface. There are models with powerful shock absorbers and textured treads that are adapted for off-road use.
The wider the wheels, the better the road stability. Wheels with wide tires behave more confidently on sand, gravel or loose soil.
The more prominent the tread, the better the grip. It tends to wear out, so tires have to be changed periodically, but this is more true for rental scooters, which cover tens of kilometers every day.
No. 3 – Mini GoGo 48V 18Ah 500W
Price: 53,000 rubles
The body of the model is made of aluminum. The material is reliable and of high quality, which has been repeatedly noted in reviews. The design of the scooter is completely foldable, which allows you to easily take it with you on the subway. You can get to it quite quickly, since the maximum speed of the solution is 45 km/h.
Also in the arsenal of the Mini GoGo 48V 18Ah 500W there is a front shock absorber, rear-wheel drive with a disc brake, a parking step and an LCD display. The latter displays detailed information about mileage, speed and battery charge. The disadvantages include the lack of a seat and high weight - 16.5 kg.
electric scooter Mini GoGo 48V 18Ah 500W
Electric scooter braking system
A good option is a conventional manual lever on the left that controls the brake mechanism on the rear axle. Unlike disc brakes, it provides smooth deceleration and is more reliable - it is not afraid of impacts from falls, water and sand.
Disc brakes on both wheels look aesthetically pleasing and provide good braking, but are inferior to drum brakes in practicality. It only takes one unfortunate fall or catching on a curb for the front disc to bend. In this case, repairs cannot be avoided.
No. 2 – KUGOO M4 PRO
Price: 33,000 rubles
KUGOO M4 PRO is one of the most favorable electric scooters equipped with a seat in terms of the balance between price and quality. The device has a reliable and wide deck that can support a person weighing up to 120 kg. For convenience, the kit comes with a removable seat, perfect for those who plan to travel long distances on the Kuga. It is noteworthy that thanks to the seatpost with shock-absorbing springs, the pilot will be accompanied only by comfort while riding. Maximum speed – 45 km/h.
You can safely drive the model in the dark - lighting devices in the front and rear reduce the chance of you not being noticed on the road to a minimum. The disadvantages of the solution include a hard front shock absorber and a low brightness margin of the on-board computer display, which leads to glare in the sun.
KUGOO M4 PRO
Additional equipment and functions
Many electric scooters have an on-board computer with display, headlight and tail lights, but there are also other small details that you should pay attention to when choosing an electric scooter. If this is a child's model, all these aspects are less important, since children usually do not ride at night and they do not need to monitor the speed or other indicators of the on-board computer. It is better for adults to take into account everything that will determine the comfort of using the vehicle.
The speed control lever and brake handles are sometimes so small that they are simply awkward to use. In order not to be disappointed later, it is better to initially pay attention to these details.
Models with a trigger accelerometer and an easy-to-read display that displays the current speed, distance traveled, and battery charge are more convenient to use. On monochrome screens it is better visible under bright sun. For people of color in such conditions, you will need some kind of visor.
Fenders on wheels for protection against splashes
If you prefer to ride a scooter in any weather, including after rain, be sure to pay attention to the wings. Some models do not have them at all, and additional installation (like on a bicycle) is not always possible, since this is not provided for by the design.
The wings may be too short or narrow, which is why they fail to cope with their main task. In this case, driving through puddles or just walking after the rain will lead not only to the fact that the scooter frame will be splashed with mud and will have to be washed, but also the rider’s clothes will be dirty. To prevent this from happening, the fenders must be at least slightly wider than the wheel tread and have sufficient length so that dirt does not fly out from under the wheels in all directions.
On-board computer and display
All electric scooters have a screen on which the main indicators are displayed: current speed, mileage, battery charge, speed mode. Some manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, even offer mobile applications for connecting to an electric scooter and making certain settings or viewing various indicators.
Some scooter models have a standard phone holder.
Telescopic steering wheel
Some electric scooters have a telescopic steering rack that extends to the desired height within a certain range. For riders with a height of 170-175 cm, even the standard height is suitable. But for people 180-185 cm and above, it will not be enough for them to move the steering wheel higher. The telescopic steering wheel makes the design bulky and weighty, so if there is no need to adjust it, it is better to abandon it altogether.
Folding handles
The deck of the electric scooter is quite narrow - on average from 15 to 20 cm. But the steering wheel is much wider - 40-45 cm. This may cause inconvenience during transportation. Some models have the ability to fold the handlebars to the width of the deck. There are different design options to make the folded scooter as compact as possible:
- handles fold;
- rotate vertically;
- unscrew.
The mechanism itself is not so important, since they are all quite convenient. The main thing is that this opportunity exists at all, although not everyone needs it. If you transport two-wheelers exclusively in the trunk of your car, this may not be necessary. But for those who plan to combine trips on a scooter and public transport, this function will come in handy.
Lighting
If you only ride during the day, you won't need a headlight. But if you prefer to go for evening walks, it is better to take care of lighting. Having a headlight at the front helps you recognize obstacles in your path, while the rear light and reflectors on the sides make you more visible. This is especially important if you drive on public roads in traffic.
Not all scooters on the market have a good, truly useful headlight. Quite often it shines not on the road, but forward - into the eyes of oncoming passers-by. Its angle of inclination is usually not adjustable at all.
#1 – Kaabo Wolf Warrior
Price: 160,000 rubles
Kaabo Wolf Warrior is the best and fastest electric scooter on the market. With a maximum speed of 80 km/h, it can be used to travel impressive distances. The range on one charge is also impressive – 120 km. Thanks to tires with deep treads, you can drive not only on smooth asphalt, but also on dirt.
It’s amazing that on the “Warrior” you will be able to climb uphill without much difficulty and slide down the slopes in the same way. With all this, the advanced braking system guarantees instant braking. There is only one drawback, and it is understandable - the high price. However, if you are looking for an electric scooter that can serve you faithfully for ten years, then the Kaabo Wolf Warrior is definitely worth the money.

What capacity should an electric scooter battery have?
The battery comes in two types - lithium-ion or lead-acid. The second option is rare. Manufacturers are abandoning it due to its greater weight and lower capacity. Lithium-ion batteries have many advantages:
- minimal self-discharge when the scooter is not used (up to 4-6% per month);
- long resource (up to 6-8 years);
- more than 1000 charge-discharge cycles.
But they also have disadvantages. They are afraid of sub-zero temperatures, so riding electric scooters is not recommended even at -5 °C. Under such conditions, the battery loses charge twice as fast as usual, and its service life is reduced. Lead-acid batteries are not afraid of sub-zero temperatures.
Battery capacity affects the travel range on a single charge. You need to find a middle ground for yourself so that the scooter is light enough and can be lifted into an apartment or office, but at the same time so that the power reserve is enough to cover the required distance:
- 5,000 mAh - 8-10 km of run. A lightweight and compact scooter for short walks near home or in the park;
- 8,000 mAh - about 15 km. Suitable for longer walks or trips to work if it is close to home;
- 12,000 mAh - up to 25 km. An option for those who want to travel on a scooter around the city over longer distances;
- 14,000 mAh - about 30 km. This power reserve is enough for one and a half to two hours of walking on a scooter.
The rate at which the battery drains depends on conditions. When climbing a hill or driving over uneven surfaces, the battery drains faster. The rider's skills also matter - you need to accelerate smoothly and stop slowly, allowing the scooter to recharge the battery (braking energy is converted into battery charge).
Rental modification scooters always have larger batteries - from 20-25 thousand mAh
Even if you don't ride your scooter in freezing weather, the battery life will expire over time. Gradually, its elements lose capacity, which negatively affects the travel range. The average battery life is about 500 charge cycles. With active use (trips up to 3-5 times a week), this can reach 3 years. At this point, the capacity will drop to approximately 70-80%. The maximum distance covered will decrease by the same 20-30%.
To extend battery life, charge the battery only with the original device. Discharging to 0% is harmful for the battery. The scooter or the battery removed from it should be stored at a temperature of 0 to 25 ℃. The ideal charge level for long periods of inactivity (for example, in winter) is 50%.
