Principle of operation
As the name of the technology implies, quick removal of stains is achieved through the circulation of bubbles. Air bubbles that are in the water constantly pass through the laundry, affecting contaminated areas together with washing powder or liquid detergent.
This effect is similar to boiling, only boiling water spoils and significantly wears out the fabric, weakening its fibers.
Automatic machines
The main element of the machine is a tank into which water is poured and laundry is placed. Inside it is a stainless steel drum that produces rotational movements. Water is supplied to the machine through the filling hole. Along the way, it washes off the powder from a special tray and enters the tank.
In air bubble machines, after the water has entered the detergent tray, it goes down into the bubble generator located under the drum. There, water and detergent are mixed with air and fed into the drum through small holes in the form of cleaning solution, foam and air bubbles.
The bubbles penetrate the fabric, removing dirt and tackling even stubborn stains. Also, during washing, the bubbles burst, releasing heat, which creates a boiling effect. Washing is carried out in warm and cold water.
Activator machines
The main difference between these machines is vertical loading. At the very bottom of the drum there is a pulsator designed to create vortex flows of water. It creates ideal jets for washing.
Separate from the activator there is a nozzle that supplies bubbles into the drum. Air bubbles are evenly distributed throughout the drum by the activator.
What is a bubble washing machine and how does it work?
Bubble technology is rightly called advanced. in special elements necessary to create a mixture, most of which is air bubbles.
The resulting bubbles pass through special holes on the walls of the drum. After which they come into contact with water, detergent, and laundry.
Reference. This technology allows you to effectively remove even heavy dirt at low temperatures.
The separation of dirt particles occurs when air molecules penetrate the fabric threads:
- The bubbles touch the pieces of dirt and then burst.
- As a result, pulsed energy is released. Penetrating inside the fibers, it effectively removes accumulations of dirt, dust, and greasy deposits.
The impulse effect provided is similar to the processes that occur during boiling. However, it has a more gentle effect.
In simple terms, millions of bubbles burst, thereby doing all the “dirty work.” So you don't have to use large amounts of laundry detergent or pre-soak your laundry to deal with tough stains.
The most modern models of washing machines are complemented by an innovative bubble system, which literally allows you to sterilize clothes or bedding. This is possible due to the effect of radicals formed when the bubble mass collides with air, because during this process there is an active release of oxygen.
They are then mixed with positively charged hydrogen molecules. As a result of this chemical reaction, radicals are formed, which make it possible to achieve the effect of sterilizing things.
Advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of washing machine models with an available air-bubble washing mode are:
- Significant energy savings.
- Saving detergents due to abundant foam formation.
- High degree of stain removal, boiling effect.
- Reduced washing time. At the same time, the result remains the same as with long programs of washing machines that are not equipped with an air bubble system.
- Washing clothes becomes delicate thanks to the bubble pillow. It reduces the friction of the laundry against the walls of the drum and against each other.
- Things are the same size after washing and do not shrink.
- In activator type machines you can add and remove laundry during washing. You can also stop washing at any time.
- The machine with the activator does not need to be connected to a water supply; just pour water into the tank.
- Low noise level.
Flaws:
- High requirements for water hardness. It should be as soft as possible.
- Activator-type machines may not have a laundry spin mode or a drain function without spinning.
- The cost of air bubble machines is higher than that of regular machines.
- The dimensions of the machines are slightly larger than those of simple activator machines and drum-type machines.

How to choose?
There are many models of bubble machines available on the market. In order to make a choice, you need to decide the following questions for yourself:
- What type of car do you need? Automatic machines are more expensive than activator-type machines; they also take up more space and require a connection to a water supply.
- Dimensions of the machine.
- What is the maximum load required?
- Do you need a spin? If necessary, what should be its maximum speed.
- What should be the method of loading things (horizontal or vertical).
- Required energy saving class in washing and spinning modes.
- Does the manufacturer matter?
- Washing machine price category.

For the last 15–20 years I’ve been using a regular little activator, but a couple of years ago it broke and they couldn’t repair it. The children brought a similar-looking machine, but they said that it had a thing in it that released air bubbles inside. This should make it wash even better. I wash it every weekend and I don’t know if these bubbles really affect something, but the clothes are always clean, everything washes well.

I have been using a Daewoo bubble machine for 5 years now, I bought it to replace my old one. It leaked once, but it was my fault - I put it on an uneven surface, and the drain hose unscrewed during the spin cycle. I really like the fact that you can throw the item in when the wash has already started. For example, you forgot to put on a sock or a child’s undershirt. You can fill the machine with bleach, conditioner and powder. Over the entire period of use, it has proven itself to be excellent, I recommend it!

We've been using a Samsung machine for six months, everything seems to be fine, except for two things. When spinning, the car is ready to take off, it shakes very much. No matter how I install the legs, nothing changes. Second, the wash delay time is incorrect. Starts working earlier. Through trial and error, it turned out that for some reason the machine also adds washing time to the delay time. There are no complaints about the rest - it washes perfectly, even washes children’s clothes.

We bought an Eco Bubble machine a year ago. They took a fancy one for more than 30,000 rubles. As a result, I wash LG, which is in the kitchen and is much cheaper. I don't like the noise when spinning. Sometimes after rinsing without spinning, foam remains on things.

I've been wanting a Samsung Eco Bubble for a long time. We bought it six months ago. I can't get enough of her! Removes all stains and saves a lot of electricity, especially if you wash after 12 at night or on weekends. I don’t know who makes noise during the spin cycle, we don’t hear anything. If you close both doors (to the room and the bathroom) there is general silence - the child sleeps peacefully. There is also no foam or streaks on things. I like the drum and the large load.

Creepy car. I wanted to wash the bed linen, but I pulled it out with huge dry spots that had not been washed. They called a specialist and did a calibration. As a result, I received the same thing the second time. The rest of the items are not washed; stains remain on them. Even just foundation or food on children's things. Several times things were thrown onto the rubber band of the drum against the glass and remained dirty. There are no complaints regarding noise and remaining powder. I like the design, the drum, the savings on electricity, but unwashed stains spoil the whole impression.

Washing machines with air bubble technology make washing any item much easier. Air bubbles form a soft foam-bubble cushion, which prevents the drum and other clothing from mechanically affecting delicate fabrics.
You can wash even the most capricious fabrics in them - wool and silk. Each model is wonderful in its own way, and people’s dissatisfaction is associated with the noise during the spin cycle, which happens with any machine or with defects in the product.
Bubble drum in a washing machine: what is it?
Bubble washing technology was first introduced by Samsung.
It is built on the use of a drum with textured walls and an abundance of holes and a powerful compressor that foams water with powder dissolved in it. During operation of an air bubble washing machine, a large number of tiny air bubbles are formed in the water. Penetrating through the holes into the rotating drum, they mechanically affect the laundry.
This principle makes it possible to obtain high washing efficiency even in non-hot water and replace boiling. There is no deforming effect that high temperatures have on delicate fabrics.
