Ball sterilizer for manicure instruments. How to use?

Pros of a ball sterilizer

Glasperlene sterilizer has many undoubted advantages, among which are:

  • reliable impact on the surface of the tool;
  • processing speed: 10-20 seconds;
  • incredible efficiency: destruction of all possible bacteria, including gram-positive and gram-negative, fungi, viruses (herpes, HIV, hepatitis);
  • careful and delicate cleaning of the instrument - it remains safe and sound;
  • low power consumption, energy saving;
  • the ability to work for a very long time without interruption - this is important when there is a large flow of clients;
  • compactness of the device and, as a result, its mobility;
  • modern design;
  • acceptable prices.

Pre-sterilization cleaning of manicure instruments - the second stage of processing

After the period of exposure of the instrument to the disinfectant has expired, it is removed from the solution and cleaned using regular or brass brushes, as well as cotton pads under running water for 10 minutes. Not only dirt and small particles are washed away, but also the disinfectant itself, which damages the instruments with prolonged exposure.

The recommended washing time can vary from 1 to 10 minutes, see the instructions for the drug. After cleaning instruments under running water, it is recommended to place them in distilled water for a minute to neutralize any remaining disinfectant solution.

The first and second stages can be combined in two cases:

  1. Chemical disinfection and cleaning, where a disinfectant solution simultaneously dissolves dirt and particles. All that remains is to rinse everything and dry it before sterilization.
  2. Disinfection and cleaning in an ultrasonic cleaner. The combined effect of the solution and vibrations allows you to fully prepare the instruments for sterilization. After exposure, we also rinse everything with running water.

Disadvantages of a ball sterilizer

However, the device also has some disadvantages that are significant for certain masters:

  • not too large capacity - this is the flip side of compactness;
  • The device cannot process plastic tools, only metal ones;
  • The device processes exactly the surface that you place in it. Tool handles, for example, remain uncovered.

Nevertheless, the glasperlene sterilizer still has many more advantages, which is why it can be seen in most nail studios.

What is a manicure UV sterilizer?

Ultraviolet radiation is used to disinfect instruments after working with a client. To do this, all manicure devices are simply placed in a special box of the device, after which it is turned on. The lamp lights up and the disinfection process begins. In total, it takes about 40 minutes to process the tools laid out in one row. Approximately 20 minutes on each side.

The UV sterilizer for manicure tools can have one or two drawers. In addition, the power of such devices also differs. Accordingly, processing time may vary up or down. However, it should be remembered that before sending instruments for sterilization, they should be disinfected with a special agent. This will improve the quality of processing.

How to care for a ball sterilizer?

In order for the sterilizer to serve you as long as possible and clean as many instruments as possible, you need to properly care for it:

  • clean the case and internal surfaces daily - of course, before doing this you need to unplug the device and wait for it to cool completely;
  • Do not disconnect the sterilizer from the network immediately after the disinfection process;
  • When cleaning surfaces, do not use aggressive liquids - only mild detergents diluted in the required proportions in water;
  • After cleaning, be sure to wipe all treated surfaces with a soft, dry (preferably lint-free) cloth, removing traces of cleaning compounds and moisture.

Well, just in case, keep the instructions close!

Means for disinfecting manicure instruments when working at home and in beauty salons

After performing a manicure or pedicure, disinfection is the first stage of treatment. Let's look at the most popular options for disinfectant solutions and concentrates. The higher the price of the product, the safer the composition for metal tools is considered.

Before disinfection, all instruments or devices are opened, complex mechanisms are untwisted and immersed in the solution.

It is necessary to ensure that there are no air bubbles or voids left on the surfaces that would prevent the penetration of the product.

Gigasept AF – intended for disinfection of manicure and medical instruments. The prepared solution can be used within 7 days. If it changes color, you need to prepare a new one and discard this one.

Gigasept AF can also be used for pre-sterilization cleaning, the second stage of processing. In this case, after soaking the equipment in the solution, it is enough to rinse it under running water for 10 minutes and additionally immerse it in distilled water for 1 minute. Instruments must be completely dry before sterilization.

Korzolex Plus - can also be used for two stages, disinfection and cleaning before sterilization. The untwisted instruments are lowered into the solution prepared according to the instructions, and the recommended disinfection time is maintained. Then cleaning with a brush is carried out in hard-to-reach places and rinsing with running and distilled water.

After preparation, the solution is recommended for use for no more than 5 days. Both the first and second products can be used in ultrasonic washing baths with metal containers.

Alaminol is a broad-spectrum disinfectant concentrate. The finished solution can be used for no more than 10 days or until the appearance changes. Suitable for use in ultrasonic installations. Dilute strictly according to the instructions, wearing gloves.

How to choose a ball sterilizer

According to the principle of operation, all models are virtually the same. But there are a number of factors that you need to pay attention to when purchasing:

  • maximum heating temperature: it is better that it can reach a maximum of 250 degrees;
  • case material: it must be made of high-quality plastic or metal;
  • stability: the device must be equipped with rubber feet to ensure stability.

And be sure to buy a sterilizer exclusively in a trusted store that sells only high-quality original certified products! Make sure that all documents are included with your purchase.

Advantages of ultrasonic sterilizers

Sterilizers of this type are very common in nail salons due to some advantages compared to similar devices of other operating principles.

  1. Versatility. Perfect for manicure tools made of different materials - all types of metal, plastic, glass, ceramics.
  2. Cleaning is completely safe for tools and does not lead to deformation, corrosion or damage to cutting surfaces.
  3. Speed of sterilization. Even the most contaminated instrument is sterilized in no more than 10 minutes.
  4. Thanks to the presence of a timer, there is no need to constantly monitor the cleaning process. The device turns off automatically after a specified period of time.
  5. The sterilizer is extremely easy to clean. The removable stand inside the bath can be easily removed, so it can be washed separately from the device.
  6. Completely safe to use. Unlike heat treatment, there is no risk of burns.
  7. You can not only sterilize it, but also store instruments until next use.

All these advantages often force manicurists to give preference to an ultrasonic sterilizer. However, some believe that processing in it is not enough to completely eliminate all bacteria, so they use ultrasound as a preparation for heat treatment. For basic disinfection, quartz sterilizers or dry-heat ovens are then used. But when it comes to cleaning contaminated, hard-to-reach places, it really has no equal. DEZlikbez. Issue 22. Choosing a sterilizer

What sterilizer can be used in the beauty industry? We get asked this question often. The purchase is expensive, and you need to be careful when choosing this device.

There are many documents regulating the use of sterilizers. They are complex, and everyone tries to interpret them in their own way. In this article we will understand all the nuances. We would like to thank lawyer Dmitry Petukhov for his assistance in preparing the material.

What is a sterilizer

A sterilizer is a special device designed for sterilization (freeing from all forms of microorganisms, including spore forms) of environmental objects. In beauty salons and clinics, working instruments and, much less frequently, dressings are sterilized. The possibility of using chemical sterilization disappears immediately, because it is not allowed to carry it out in a beauty salon (SanPiN 2.1.2.2631-10 clause 9.22. Instruments for manicure, pedicure, tattooing, piercing, peeling, gauze napkins, cotton balls, as well as other consumables materials are sterilized in sterilizers, packaged in sterilization packaging materials approved for use in the prescribed manner and stored in them).

There are several types of sterilizers, each of them has different operating principles. The most popular devices in the beauty industry:

  • air (dry-heat ovens);
  • steam (autoclaves);
  • infrared (still rare).

Documentation

For public utility service enterprises (without a medical license), the only document is SanPiN 2.1.2.2631-10 (third paragraph of clause 9.2. “...The use of disinfectants, disinfection and sterilization equipment that have documents confirming in the prescribed manner the safety of the products used” and paragraph "9.25. Equipment, equipment and materials used for sterilization of instruments must have a document confirming their safety during use and instructions for use in Russian")

But these are reference standards, since it is not completely clear what specific documents are needed to confirm the safety of the device.

Since the sterilizer has the functionality of medical devices, this issue is regulated by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of December 27, 2012 N1416 “On approval of the Rules for state registration of medical devices.” The document describes that the device/device/product is recognized as safe for use in the event of receiving a special document confirming state control - a registration certificate of a medical device.

Registration certificate

– a basic document for a sterilizer, and it is this document that confirms the safety of the device.

The second important document is instructions in Russian

, which allows you to master the principles of working with the device. The instructions indicate the principles of monitoring the operation of the sterilizer - setting indicators and filling out logs.

Often sterilizer suppliers offer documents such as a certificate of conformity or a declaration of conformity

.

When purchasing a sterilizer, you need to understand that certificates and declarations are additional documents on technical tests; they do not replace the registration certificate.

So, you should ask the seller:

  • registration certificate;
  • instructions in Russian;
  • certificate of conformity or declaration of conformity.

Inspecting authorities will have no questions about such a device when inspecting your salon.

What sterilizers cannot be used

  • UV sterilizer.
    Despite the fact that most products are positioned, these devices are not sterilizers. They only maintain sterile conditions and only when used correctly.
  • Glasperlene (ball)
    These sterilizers were popular at the initial stage of development of the beauty industry in our country. However, now they cannot be considered as devices for sterilization: they do not have permits. During inspections by Rospotrebnadzor, they are fined for their use.
  • some autoclaves,
    in which, according to the instructions, you cannot sterilize instruments in sterilization bags (Kraft bags). Such autoclaves do not have drying and do not provide indicators for sterilization quality control. Indicators, when pasted into a special quality control log of the sterilizer, guarantee the correct sterilization of instruments during salon inspections.

Cautions and replacement of filler

It is worth remembering that sterilization in equipment with glasperlene filler is subject to pre-treated and dried objects with disinfectants, because Excess moisture trapped in the balls leads to their unusability and damages the internal heat-resistant container.

Storage of equipment is permissible at room temperature, avoiding proximity to heating systems and other sources of heat radiation.

Procedure for replacing the filler

The filler from the balls is replaced when they change their color (for example, they turn yellow or become cloudy).

The filler in the device, which is used during long hours of daily work, is also subject to monthly replacement. The average load allows use for up to 0.5 years.

The maximum permissible service life of the balls, regardless of their use, is 1 year.

To replace, about 1-1.5 packages of glasperlene are required, which allows you to fill a heat-resistant container to the required volume - at least 2/3 of the inner glass.

You can extend the life of the filler by treating the balls with baking soda, for which every 1-3 months you make a solution with a concentration of 5% (5 g of soda per 100 ml of water), immerse the balls in it, wash them thoroughly and rinse with running water. Only completely dried glasperlene is loaded back.

Flaws

  1. You will have to change the balls periodically - approximately once every 6-12 months.
  2. Only the working part of the tool is processed, and the handles remain untouched.
  3. The balls dull the tools.
  4. Inability to control the results of sterilization.

In fact, a Glasperlene sterilizer, even if it has a registration certificate from the Ministry of Health, can only be used to sterilize cutters.

As you can see, both the pros and cons of the device are quite significant. Before purchasing a device, be sure to weigh all the pros and cons and be sure to consult the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor.
