Thanks to built-in self-diagnosis systems, dishwashers (hereinafter also referred to as PMMs) can independently localize a fault. So, error codes for Electrolux dishwashers allow you to determine the nature of the breakdown in household appliances from this well-known company.
If you call a technician to repair your dishwasher, tell him the error code in advance - this will speed up the repair.
What do various fault codes mean and their interpretation?
If you know the decoding of fault codes, you can fix most PMM breakdowns with your own hands. For all models of the Electrolux, Zanussi and AEG brands, the coding of errors appearing on the displays is the same.
There may be slight differences in dishwasher models without a display, where alphanumeric symbols replace flashing LEDs. Each fault corresponds to a certain number of signals from the END indicator or other LED, followed by a pause for a short period of time (5-6 seconds). Then the series of blinks is repeated.
This is how a malfunction of an Electrolux dishwasher is displayed in the form of a code
The explanation of alphanumeric combinations and light signals should be in the instructions included with each dishwasher. If the document is missing for some reason, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the table, which provides a list of codes indicated by the self-diagnosis systems of dishwashers:
Code | Number of indicator flashes | Description of the breakdown |
i10 | 1 | A sufficient amount of water is not poured into the PMM tank or there is no liquid supply at all |
i20 | 2 | The waste liquid does not drain or is poorly removed by the pump into the sewer system |
i30 | 3 | The Aquastop system signals that water has leaked into the dishwasher tray |
i50 | 5 | The triac that controls the operation of the circulation pump may be faulty, causing the pump to stop functioning |
i60 | 6 | A tubular electric heater (hereinafter also referred to as a heating element) does not heat the water or does not heat it quickly enough. Possible overheating of the liquid |
i70 | 7 | The temperature sensor is probably faulty, its resistance does not meet the standards |
i80 | 8 | Data is not loaded correctly from the EEPROM memory into the central processor of the electronic control unit (hereinafter also referred to as the ECU) |
i90 | 9 | Error in the PMM operating program |
iA0 | 10 | Sprinkler arm does not rotate |
iB0 | 11 | The water turbidity sensor does not transmit information to the ECU. It may be malfunctioning |
iC0 | 12 | The interface board cannot transmit information from the control panel to the ECU |
iD0 | 13 | The tachometer sensor does not control the rotation speed of the circulation pump motor |
iF0 | 14 | For a certain time, liquid has not been added to the PMM tank to the required level (in cases where it is required to be topped up) |

In many cases, alphanumeric indications of errors in the operation of the PMM disappear after rebooting the dishwasher. To do this you need:
- turn off the dishwasher;
- unplug the plug from the socket;
- wait 15-20 minutes;
- connect the unit to the network and turn it on again.
Error codes with heating of Electrolux dishwashers
The heating element (heating element) is turned on upon command from the control module. The water is heated to a temperature set by the user.
Typical errors of Electrolux dishwashers due to problems with water heating are displayed in the following way:
1. Code i60 (6 blinks) - an error has been detected in the operation of the water heater. Possible reasons: • burnout of the heater or power wires;
• insufficient water level;
• failure of the circulation pump;
• problems with the control module.
Remedy: • check the condition of the wiring and heater. Burnt wires and heater are replaced;
• the functionality of the thermostat is checked;
• the operation of the circulation pump is assessed. In the event of a serious breakdown, the pump is replaced;
• the operation of the control module is tested.
2. Code i70 (7 blinks) - an error has been detected in the operation of the thermistor. The heating element does not work, the water does not heat up. Possible reason: the contacts burned out due to a short circuit.
Remedy: change the thermistor.
Elimination of breakdowns associated with blockages, collection and drainage of water
Possible reasons for the i10 error to appear are as follows:
- there is no water in the water supply or the ball valve for its supply is closed at the inlet;
- the inlet filter is clogged with debris;
- the inlet hose has become kinked;
- the inlet valve does not open.
To eliminate the damage, check the presence of water in the water supply and the condition of the above parts. The filter needs to be cleaned, the hose needs to be straightened. It is easy to purchase and replace the fill valve yourself, or call a specialist to diagnose and repair the part.

Error i20 in an Electrolux dishwasher indicates that one of the following problems has occurred:
- the drain filter is clogged;
- the impeller of the drain pump is blocked by debris;
- a blockage has formed in the drain pipe or hose;
- The water level sensor in the tank does not work.
Filter element in Electrolux dishwashers
First of all, you need to clear the filter of debris, then check to see if the pump impeller is jammed with broken dishes or debris. To do this, remove the pump cover located under the filter. A kink in the drain hose is also easy to fix. If the above steps are completed and the water still does not drain, you will have to replace the pressure switch.

The alphanumeric combination i30 on the display indicates the activation of the Aquastop system. Possible causes are damage to the tank, one of the pipes, hoses or their connections. In this case, the inlet solenoid valve immediately shuts off the water supply to avoid flooding. It may be necessary to completely disassemble the PMM for repairs, so it is better to call a specialist to your home.

IF0 is another Electrolux dishwasher fault code, informing the user that water is being drawn into the reservoir very slowly. In this case, the machine will wash tableware with less liquid. Eliminating such an error is simple - after the wash cycle, drain the water, add it again, and the emergency coding will disappear.
The video will tell readers about the i30 error in the Electrolux PMM:
Problems with draining and filling water
If any problem occurs, you should first try to reset the error by disconnecting the equipment from the power supply. If such actions do not bring positive results, you need to look for codes and make repairs.
For different problems with draining/filling water, different error codes appear on the display.
- i30 (3 light flickering lamps). Indicates that the Aquastop system is activated. It is activated when an excessive amount of liquid stagnates in the pan. This problem is the result of a violation of the tightness of the storage container, cuffs and sealing gaskets, a violation of the integrity of the hoses, and the occurrence of leaks. To eliminate the breakdown, you need to carefully inspect these components and, if necessary, replace them.
- iF0. The error indicates that more water has filled into the tank than it should. In most cases, selecting the waste liquid drain mode on the control panel helps resolve the error.
Problems with water heating
The i60 designation makes it clear that one of several problems is possible:
- The heating element has failed;
- the temperature sensor is faulty;
- the cable wiring coming from the computer is damaged;
- The control triac in the control unit does not work;
- the circulation pump is broken;
- There is too little liquid in the reservoir.
If you have the skills to work with tools, you can replace the heating element or thermistor with your own hands. But troubleshooting wiring and ECU problems is best left to an experienced specialist. A malfunction of the thermistor is indicated by the i70 combination on the dishwasher display.

Problems with draining and filling water
Water enters the machine from the house water supply network, and after washing the dishes, it is drained into the sewer.
Typical errors of Electrolux dishwashers due to problems with draining and filling water are displayed in the following way:
1. Code i30 (3 blinks) - an error has been detected in the operation of the AquaStop system: water has accumulated in the pan. Possible cause: seal failure.
Remedy: • check the tightness of the storage tank;
• the condition of hoses and connections is checked;
• the tightness of seals and cuffs is checked.
2. Code iF0 (14 blinks) - an error was detected when pouring water into the tank. Possible reason: flooding occurs longer than the set time.
Remedy: waste water is drained and a new filling is made.
Control system malfunctions
If such breakdowns occur, diagnostics and repairs should be carried out by qualified technicians. For example, if the circulation pump does not work (error i50), the reason may be either the pump itself or the failure of the control triac located in the control unit. In addition, the triac may not receive a signal generated by the processor. Similar situations may arise when codes from i80 to iD0 are displayed, when the sensors do not respond or the ECU is broken.

We looked at the most common breakdowns of Electrolux dishwashers. We hope that this material will help you troubleshoot problems yourself.
Sensor malfunctions
Electrolux dishwashers are “stuffed” with electronic sensors that are responsible for the operation of the device. For example, they monitor water temperature, its quality and other parameters.
If there are problems with different sensors, the following codes “pop up” on the display.
- ib0 (light notification - flashing of the lamp on the control panel 11 times). The code indicates problems with the transparency sensor. The device often produces such an error if the drain system becomes clogged, a layer of dirt forms on the electronic sensor, or it fails. In such a situation, first of all you need to clean the drain system and the sensor from contamination. If such manipulations do not help, the sensor should be replaced.
- id0 (lamp blinks 13 times). The code indicates interruptions in the operation of the tachometer. It controls the rotation speed of the motor rotor. Problems often arise as a result of loosening of fasteners due to vibration, rarely - when the sensor winding burns out. To fix the problem, you should evaluate the reliability of the sensor fastening and, if necessary, tighten it. If this does not help, it is recommended to replace the broken electronic sensor with a new one.
- i40 (warning – 9 light signals). The code indicates a problem with the water level sensor. The error may occur due to a failure of the pressure switch or control module. To fix the problem, you need to replace the sensor, repair or reflash the module.
