Meat grinder test: which one is better for minced meat
We took four meat grinders from well-known brands, at different prices: from seven to eight to 25-27 thousand rubles. Prices may vary, but this does not mean that cheaper meat grinders should not cope with their responsibilities - processing meat into minced meat. This is exactly what we checked: how well the indicators correspond to the declared ones (how much minced meat is produced per minute), as well as the quality of the minced meat. Test and results
We tested the meat grinders on high-quality beef, with a minimum amount of fat (it must still be in the correct minced meat). According to some manufacturers, it is the maximum productivity of minced beef per minute that is indicated in the characteristics of a particular model.

Fresh ground beef should be a bright red color; if the color turns greyish or the mince looks weathered, don't use it. Minced meat may release reddish juice - this is normal and means that it is “pure”, without impurities (without bread, for example). But if the juice is clear, most likely the meat was defrosted for it, it was not made from fresh, chilled meat. The minced meat should smell quite strongly of fresh meat. Soft white fat inclusions are quite acceptable, but hard ones (cartilage) are not.
The results were different. For example, the Philips meat grinder couldn’t cope with the dough - the meat got stuck in it, the disk with the holes got clogged, the quality of the minced meat turned out to be unsatisfactory - in fact, it simply ruined the meat. Polaris, on the whole, coped with the task; the minced meat, according to the VkusVill specialist (the test took place in one of these health food stores), was of acceptable quality, but in terms of performance it showed itself to be very average.
Meat grinders Panasonic and BOSCH. The first one, expensive and powerful, made the most minced meat (and it was of excellent quality). The German model also performed very well: the minced meat was also of excellent quality, and in terms of its quantity it was not so much inferior to the leader. At the same time, the BOSCH meat grinder is more than half the price.

Not a single meat grinder has been able to demonstrate its maximum capabilities in the production of minced meat. But this is not surprising, most tests of meat grinders end exactly like this - there is a feeling that manufacturers indicate these values "from the bullshit" (but here they are saved by the use of the preposition "up to": up to 3 kg, up to 2.7 kg - that is, maybe be less). However, the Panasonic MK-ZJ3500 managed to produce the most high-quality mince - it is the winner of the test. But its high cost and very good results of the much more affordable BOSCH MFW45120 give us the right to count it among the winners - in our testing it is the best in terms of price and efficiency.

How to choose the right meat grinder

If you compare REDMOND RMG-1216-8 and Panasonic MK-G1800PWTQ, then it’s like a bicycle and a tank. It spins quickly. I don't have time to add meat. On hard fat and veins, it does not slow down much. The main thing, even more important, than the meat grinder itself, for me was the presence of a large grater for potato pancakes. Despite the fact that it spreads the “ribbons” a little on the sides, I am very glad that in 20 minutes, you can prepare potato pancakes to eat for a couple of days. The case gets hot, so the main thing is to read the instructions (!) before starting work. I know that this is unusual for many. An important note in it is that the process of working under load should not exceed (as far as I remember, this is not exact) 3-4 minutes. This is enough to make minced meat for a couple of weeks in advance or to make several kilograms of mash for potato pancakes... Of course, it makes noise that you can’t listen to TV. That's why I pause it while the engine is running. The big minus, which is why I didn’t scrap the old one, is that you can’t twist crackers. And this is an important function for potato cakes.

I bought the same one 7-8 years ago in a hypermarket. It served faithfully for many years until I decided to grind old horseradish roots in it. The end was a little predictable - on the second kilogram it failed - the teeth of the first gear (which directly drives the knife) were torn off.
