Errors e1, e2, e3, e4, e5 in the Redmond multicooker: what to do?

Multicooker: error codes, breakdowns and what they mean

Almost all modern multicookers are equipped with a small display that allows you to navigate not only when choosing programs, but also in case of problems. Manufacturers have made sure that during operation it is easier to diagnose the problem and solve it. Each manufacturer has its own coding of errors, which are written about in the instructions for the device. The most common types of multicooker breakdowns, error codes E1, E2, E3, E4, E5 and their meanings are further in the text.

How to understand what malfunction has occurred in the Vitek multicooker using the codes on the panel

The manufacturer of multicookers, Vitek, does not indicate in the user manuals for operating the devices either specific fault codes or the possibility of breakdowns in general.

The manufacturer of multicookers, Vitek, does not indicate possible ways to resolve problems with the equipment either in the instructions for the device or on the outer packaging

Based on feedback from users who encountered problems using the device, two common errors can be identified:

  • E2 – overheating. The device has not yet cooled down from the previous cooking cycle.
  • E4 - indicates a malfunction of the temperature sensor in the lid. Associated with unreliable contact in the connector from the sensor in the cover.

E1-E4 - Possible reasons Topic author Savarna

Possible cause, errors E1-E4 in the ARC multicooker. Quite often, the appearance of error E4 is caused by loss of contact in the pressure sensor (photo). The simplest way: open the bottom cover and, using your finger or something, pull the sensor plate until it clicks. After several clicks, the contact appears. The cardinal solution is to disassemble further, i.e. remove the bottom plastic, unscrew the sensor and clean the contacts. You can try to clean it without unscrewing the sensor. Another reason is that water condensation has entered the contacts of the thermostat/relay/that turns on the heating. Only about five minutes of work. It is necessary for repairmen in any workshop to disconnect the power cord from the network and remove the plastic bottom of the pressure cooker. There you will see a printed circuit board with electronic wiring and opposite its thermostat/relay. The thermostat has copper electrical contacts; you need to carefully open them with your fingers, insert writing paper between them, close the contacts and pull the paper through the contacts several times. You can use fine-grained sandpaper/zero sandpaper. You can also remove the thermostat for easy cleaning of the contacts, and then put everything back together in the reverse order. Sometimes the multicooker displays an error on the display, but sometimes you can notice a malfunction without any information. For example, if steam comes out from under the lid of the device, this may indicate a faulty o-ring. It has either worn out or fallen out of the installed seat. In this case, reinstalling the ring helps, but if nothing has changed, you need to completely replace it. If steam passes through the pressure limit valve even in the “Closed” position, only service center employees can fix it. View all images

Valera (Kaylinn) how does this procedure affect the warranty.

MULTICOOKER (Vyom) Valera, under warranty we send the multicooker to the service center for repair. But as a rule, this can happen after the warranty period has expired.

Roman (Isabella) Natalya Smirnova, thank you for your help! Error E4 stopped appearing when the water was boiled for 15 minutes. I hope it doesn't happen again.

MULTICOOKER (Vyom) Roman, I hope!

Antigravity (Ifanwy) Thanks, it helped

Natalya (Alouarn) Antigravity, very good, I'm glad!

Antigravity (Ifanwy) Natalya, the photos helped a lot, without them I wouldn’t have figured out where the relay is

Natalya (Alouarn) Antigravity, OK

Petr (Constantijn) MULTICOOKER (), good afternoon, I have such a problem that after option number 1 (the simplest one) it turned out that the bypass valve does not hold, as I understand it, it is designed for a certain pressure, and the pressure sensor does not work, how can this be done? to correct? if you press the valve yourself, the pressure sensor is triggered, but somehow it’s not interesting to hold the valve all the time

Natalya (Alouarn) Peter, there are many reasons for this, starting with the fact that the valve position is not selected correctly. You can find out exactly your reason only in the service center or contact the seller of your multicooker, he is obliged to look at it on Skype in order to at least understand whether the multicooker needs to be repaired or whether everything is simple there and eliminate the cause with him.

Petr (Constantijn) Natalya, thank you, I seem to have figured it out, adjusted the pressure sensor under the bottom cover, apparently it was simply not tightened during assembly

Natalya (Alouarn) Peter, if it hadn’t been turned up, it’s unlikely that your multicooker would have held pressure. It happens that while using the multicooker, the nut becomes loose and needs to be tightened.

Petr (Constantijn) Natalya, they probably didn’t understand each other, this is not a nut in a screw to regulate the interruption on the pressure sensor

Natalya (Alouarn) Peter, ok!

Alexey () Good afternoon. I have such a problem with a multicooker: for example, you select soup on the inlicator. The countdown on the panel starts, the pressure indicator lights up, but it doesn’t respond to any keys, neither reset nor anything else.

MULTICOOKER (Vyom) Alexey, please contact the seller of your multicooker and arrange for it to be sent for service and repair.

Sergey () good evening. We decided to fry potatoes, set the rice mode (as always). But this time, it was gaining pressure and suddenly it beeped and error E2 was displayed. Resetting and turning it on again did not help. The error remains on. to correct?

MULTICOOKER (Vyom) Sergey, you can only fry using the FRYING program, violation causes breakdown, sooner or later...

Deciphering and eliminating errors in the Redmond multicooker

The cooking efficiency and multifunctional capabilities of multicookers from the Redmond model range are known to many housewives, which is why the products are in high demand. However, like all household appliances, such devices sometimes break down during operation or do not start the cooking mode because errors with the letter E appear on the display of the Redmond multicooker.

Error codes

E 1 appears on the display . As a rule, this means that moisture has gotten inside the product, and to prevent individual parts from burning out, the automation warns the user in this way that it is necessary to urgently disconnect the product from the network.

All error options for multicookers from the Redmond company with the E symbol are described in great detail in the operating instructions supplied by the manufacturer, and recommendations for eliminating them may also be indicated there.

Different instructions interpret error codes slightly differently:

  • For example, if the device displays error E1, this may mean not only moisture ingress, but also burnout of the heating element.
  • When the automatic display shows error E3, then in this case you need to either dry the insides of the product directly under the bowl or check that the multicooker lid is tightly closed.
  • Error E2 may also appear if there is a short circuit in the upper heat sensor located in the cover of the product.
  • Sometimes a household appliance displays error E2 when the connecting wire has broken, so you need to check it with a multimeter or ohmmeter in any case. We'll talk about elimination methods a little later.
Redmond multicooker error E4? So the automation tells us that the pressure sensor is clogged, but there may be some kind of breakdown in the electronic board, here we will have to check everything.

Error code E5 - automatic equipment overheating protection has tripped.

For each individual case, it is necessary to conduct a thorough inspection of the multicooker; if for various reasons you cannot do this yourself, then go to a service center, where professionals will help you for a minimal price (from 1 thousand rubles).

Error codes in Polaris kitchen pressure cookers

Most of the malfunctions in multicookers from the Polaris brand are associated with a malfunction of the thermal control system or overheating of the device. Each model may have its own codes, but in general the displayed errors are presented in the table.

E1Temperature sensor short circuit
E2Short circuit of the upper temperature sensor
Broken lower temperature sensor
E3Problems with the temperature sensor under the bowl
E4Broken upper temperature sensor under the cover

Failure of the thermostat is one of the most common breakdowns of Polaris multicookers.

IMPORTANT. Sometimes the appearance of error codes on the panel may just be a glitch in the system, and not a serious malfunction. Before diagnosing a breakdown, you should turn off the multicooker and turn it back on after a while.

Troubleshooting simple problems

Let's start with the simplest ones - if error code E1, E2 appears on the display, this means that there is moisture inside, bulk products, or a problem has occurred in the mechanical thermal relay. We eliminate the causes as they are discovered: if you do not find moisture or grains of salt, sugar and cereals under the bowl, then turn the product over and unscrew the bottom cover.

A thermocouple is installed in the very center, directly under the cup. Do not confuse it with a temperature sensor: it is tubular and very fragile, so we work with maximum caution. There are two wires going to the thermostat, take a thin strip of No. 0 sandpaper and fold it in half to clean both contacts at once.

We lightly press on the upper plate from the side of the adjusting screw until it clicks - this is a signal that the contacts have opened, insert the emery cloth, release the plate so that the contacts close and with vigorous, but without fanaticism, clean the terminals, eliminating the malfunction. After this, we install all the removed parts in place and connect the product to the network. If the error does not appear on the display, then we can congratulate you on a successful self-repair.

If error E3 appears on the display, then moisture accidentally got inside the device under the bowl - this is an everyday matter, you need to carefully add liquid, because this is not an ordinary pan, but an electronic device. Fixing the problem is quite simple: unplug it, take out the bowl - if it is hot, then give it time to cool. Then we turn the product over and unscrew the bottom fastening, remove it so that there is free access both from below and from above.

To quickly dry the insides of the multicooker, you can use a hairdryer at low temperatures: thermistors and similar sensors are very sensitive to high temperatures.

Error Codes and Troubleshooting

The Redmond multicooker errors that appear on the screen have the letter “E” and a number - from 1 to 5. To eliminate the problem that has arisen, you need to know the decoding of these values. This information is provided in the operating instructions.

What do errors E1-E5 mean?

As a rule, the most common errors are E1, E2, E3, and most often they indicate moisture ingress or a loose lid . In these situations, it is necessary to disconnect the device from the network to avoid damage and subsequent repairs.

Error codes can also indicate the following malfunctions:

If the multicooker displays any of the error codes, it is necessary to carefully inspect it for any malfunctions. If any breakdowns are detected, you can try to fix them yourself.

Trouble-shooting

If errors E1, E2 or E3 are displayed on the display, this may indicate that the lid is not tightly closed or moisture has entered the device. If the problem is not in the lid, you should unplug the device and wait until it cools down completely. Next, turning the multicooker over, you need to disassemble it, and then dry the insides with a hairdryer at low temperature.

Advice! Drying the multicooker with a hairdryer should be done carefully so as not to damage the sensitive sensors.

Error E5 indicates that the device is overheating. The reasons can be different: the bowl was not installed inside or the liquid completely evaporated during cooking. To fix the device, it must be turned off and unplugged. Next, open the lid and wait until the device cools down completely. If operation was stopped during cooking, you need to add water and restart the selected mode.

Important! If, after completing the work, the fault cannot be eliminated and the error code continues to appear on the display, you must take the device to a service center.

Eliminating errors E4 and E5

The multicooker displays error E5 - the automation has protected the product from overheating. This can happen for various reasons; each specific case must be dealt with without haste. In this case, many users ask a logical question: what to do when the Redmond multicooker displays error E5? Manufacturers of domestic household appliances have introduced special software to effectively protect the entire body and individual parts of the product from overheating.

When, when you turn on the multicooker, the temperature sensor located in the lid gives a strong heating signal, the device stops the heating process and displays an error. Sometimes the housewife, in a hurry, simply forgot to put the bowl inside the device. In another case, the product will issue such a code if food has been placed in the bowl, but no water has been added to prepare it.

Most often, it will be enough to carry out a number of very simple manipulations:

  • immediately turn off the product by pressing the “start” symbol on the display;
  • disconnect the multicooker from the network by removing the plug from the socket;

  • open the top cover to lower the internal temperature;
  • wait at least 20 minutes until the device cools down sufficiently.
  • We check that you have added everything to the cooking bowl; if you have already prepared soup or broth for borscht, then you need to add boiled water at room temperature. We turn on the mode again: if a similar error occurs again, then you need to go to the nearest service center, where your assistant will be diagnosed using special equipment and all your questions will be answered.

Error E4 - to cope with this problem you need some experience and skills in working with sandpaper, because you need to clean the contacts of the pressure sensor. If after cleaning the product does not turn on, then again you will have to contact the service center; without a qualified technician you will not be able to handle it with a special tool.

How to resolve error E5 in a Redmond multicooker

If error E5 appears on the Redmond multicooker screen, you must first completely turn off the electrical appliance - first press the “Start” button, and then unplug the plug from the socket. The further procedure will look like this:

    1. Open the lid of the unit and leave the device in this state for about 20 minutes. This allows you to reduce the temperature inside the device.
    2. The bowl is removed and carefully inspected from all sides for integrity and absence of cracks.
    3. Check the heating element - there should be no debris, water or food debris on it. If necessary, carefully clean the heating element, making sure that it has cooled down sufficiently so that it will not cause burns.
    4. The container is returned to its place and the lid of the Redmond multicooker is closed again.
    5. The device is connected to the network and the desired cooking program is launched.

In most cases, problem E5 does not occur again. But if the error code still remains on the display, you should contact service.

Advice! To prevent fault E5 from occurring due to the accumulation of water between the bowl and the heating element, before starting the device, you need to thoroughly wipe the container and, if necessary, dry it with a hairdryer.
