TOP 5 faults of the Gorenje washing machine

Fault codes for Gorenje washing machines with GP1-GP5 control systems.

Code Description of the problem Possible faults Possible solution methods
F1 (F1)

Typical for machines with control system GP1-GP5.

Washing machine does not heat water Temperature sensor malfunction. Check the absence or presence of breaks in the thermal sensor - control module circuit. Troubleshoot.
F2 (Ф2)

For machines with control system GP1-GP5.

The washing machine does not turn on. The hatch lock is faulty.
  1. Press the “Stop” button to reset the program.
  2. Check whether a foreign object (small piece of clothing, its edge) is preventing the hatch from closing.
  3. Check the wiring of the hatch locking device and, if there are problems, fix it.
  4. If the measures taken do not help, the problem is with the UBL itself (hatch blocking device) and will have to be repaired/replaced.
F3 (Ф3)

For vehicles equipped with GP1-GP5 control system.

The machine does not take in enough water, stopping the program before “waiting” for the tank to be completely filled.
  • Problems with water supply.
  • Intake valve malfunction.
  • Pressostat failure.
  1. Assess how strong the pressure is in the water supply system; if it is insufficient, check the inlet valve by turning it sufficiently, or wait until there is sufficient pressure.
  2. Inspect the inlet valve for sticking, rinse the filter from limescale blockages, and install it in place.
  3. Inspect the pressure switch (most often you have to change its hose or the part itself).
F4 (Ф4)

Error variant typical for machines of the PG1 - PG3 series

The washing machine suddenly stops in the middle of the cycle and stops spinning the drum (it may try to start the motor again at intervals of a minute). If this fails, the equipment can begin to drain warm water (with a washing mode of +60 degrees and above), collecting cold water, which then, after a short time, is still drained. The error code does not go away.
  • Tachogenerator failure.
  • Failure of the control module.
  1. Assess the degree of damage to the tachogenerator: the wiring may burn out, sections of which will have to be replaced.
  2. If it doesn’t help or no fault is found there, the problem is in the control module. It will need to be repaired or replaced.
F4 (Ф4)

Error for Gorenje washing machines models with control system GP4-GP5

  • Electronic board malfunction.
  • Problems with the inverter that controls the number of revolutions.
  • Brush cushioning.
  • Motor failure.
  1. Restart the washing program. If the code does not appear, everything is fine.
  2. Check the condition of the inverter and control board. If necessary, replace the defective part.
  3. Inspect the brushes (brushes wear out most often on machines that have been used for a long time). They often have to be changed.
  4. Inspect and, if damaged, replace the motor.
F5 (Ф5)

For machines with control system GP1-GP3

The washing machine does not spin the drum. The drive motor triac burns out due to severe overheating of the motor.
  1. Turn off the washing machine, leave it for 15-20 minutes, and try to turn it on again.
  2. Change the motor winding.
  3. Eliminate defects in the control board, replace the triac.
F5 (Ф5)

For machines with control system GP4-GP5

The machine stops the motor in the middle of the wash cycle. Lost communication between the electronic controller and the inverter.
  1. Inspect and diagnose the connections of the “controller - triac” circuit, eliminate breaks if any.
  2. If the above measures did not help, or no break was detected, the problem is in the specified components themselves, you will have to replace the inverter or controller.
F6 (F6)

Typical for all of the above control systems.

The washing machine does not heat the water.
  • The heating element has failed.
  • The electronic unit is faulty.
  1. Inspect and repair the heating element. If repair is impossible, replace it.
  2. Repair the control board, electronic controller.
F7 (Ф7)

General error (for GP1-GP5 control systems).

During the execution of the work program, the machine cannot drain the waste water after 2 attempts, then it interrupts operation, issuing the specified code.
  • Drain system clogged.
  • The wiring in the drainage system has burned out.
  • Failure of the water level sensor.
  • Controller failure or breakdown.
  1. Unscrew, inspect and wash the drain filter, and install it in place.
  2. Inspect the drain pump for serviceability.
  3. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the pressure switch.
F8 (Ф8)

Typical for GP1-GP5 systems.

The machine spins poorly due to the low rotation speed of the drum. Engine malfunction.
  1. Check the position of the drive belt: if it is stretched, replace it; if it has slipped, replace it.
  2. Check the motor itself. If there is irreversible damage, replace it.
  3. Inspect the inverter (relevant for machines with a GP4, 5 control system, for example, WA62S3).
F9 (Ф9)

Relevant for machines with control systems GP2-GP5.

The machine stops working (at any stage of the program), then begins to drain the water. It refuses to launch the program again. Triggering of the AquaStop system - protection against leaks (relevant for machines equipped with this function, for example, Gorenje W1P60S3 WaveActive).
  1. Inspect the pallet. If there is water there, evaluate the degree of tightness of the components and connections. Eliminate possible leaks.
  2. If all components are sealed, the problem is in the AquaStop system sensor itself. It needs repair or replacement.

Fault codes for Gorenje washing machines with control systems WA-101/121/132/162/162P

Code Description of the problem Possible faults Possible solution methods
F1 (F1) The washing machine carries out the operating program without heating the water (provided that it was intended in the given version). Temperature sensor malfunction.
  1. Conduct diagnostics of the electrical circuits of the temperature sensor for the consequences of a short circuit in them.
  2. Repair open circuits and start the machine again.
F2 (Ф2) The washing machine does not draw water and stops working 8 minutes after starting. There is no way to get water within a given period of time (4 minutes), neither on the first nor on the second try.
  1. Check the presence of water in the water supply and its sufficient pressure.
  2. Make sure the tap is open.
  3. Check the fill valve.
  4. Inspect the water level sensor. If there are defects, replace the damaged parts with new ones.
F31 (Ф31) The washing machine does not rotate the drum, stopping the operation during the washing process. Tachogenerator malfunction.

  2. Inspect the tachometer itself, repair or replace the part with a new one.
F32 (Ф32) The machine suddenly stops washing while the program is running. Problems with the triac. Repair the control board or replace it with a new one.
F4 (Ф4) The washing machine heats the water weakly (no more than 15 degrees), but washes completely. The error appears after the end of the cycle.
  • Failure of the heating element.
  • Electronic controller malfunction.
  1. Inspect the heating element circuits, eliminate breaks if any. In case of a more complex breakdown, replace the heating element itself.
  2. Repair or replace the electronic controller.
F41 (Ф41) The machine heats the water excessively. Electronic controller problems.
  1. Inspect the heating element relay, as well as the electronic controller itself.
  2. Make repairs or replacements.
F43 (Ф43) The machine heats the water in the tank very quickly.
  • Not enough water collected.
  • Leaking tank or drain system.
  • Electronic controller problems.
  1. Check the serviceability of the pressure switch - it may be the cause of the low water level.
  2. Check the tank and drain system components for water leaks. Ensure the tightness of the hose, its connections, and the tank.
  3. If this is not the problem, you need to look for a breakdown in the electronic controller, repair it or replace the specified part.
F5 (Ф5) The washing machine does not drain water at all or does not drain it completely for several minutes before the first drain.
  • Sewer blockage.
  • Problems in the drainage system.
  • Damage to the water level sensor.
  • Controller malfunction.
  1. Check the drain for blockages, remove them, and reconnect the machine.
  2. Inspect the drain filter and its components, wash the filter mesh, make sure that there are no foreign objects in the impeller and there are no signs of deformation.
  3. Conduct diagnostics of the level sensor: it may not “notice” insufficient water level.
  4. If the above measures do not help, check the electronic controller; if it breaks, replace it.
F61 (F61)

Diagnosis of the error is only possible by performing a service test.

The machine spins poorly and rotates the drum slowly.
  • Problems with the belt.
  • Drum jamming.
  • Motor or controller failure.
  1. Inspect the position of the belt. If it is not in place, place it on the pulley correctly.
  2. In manual mode, rotate the drum in one direction, then in the other direction. If there are difficulties, the problem is in a foreign body that has fallen outside its boundaries.
  3. Diagnose the operation of the motor and electronic controller. If necessary, replace defective components.
F63 (F63) The machine suddenly stops washing, becomes silent and displays an error code.
  • Chain defects.
  • Problems with the control unit.
  1. Ring and eliminate open circuits.
  2. Replace the control module.

Gorenje hob errors

The error detection function has helped many hob owners both fix the problem themselves and get to know their equipment better.

All Gorenje cooking surfaces come with detailed instructions and a technical data sheet, which, in addition to a description of functions and recommendations for activation and maintenance, contains descriptions of error codes in case of malfunction.

The Gorene brand produces several types of hobs. Combined (gas with electricity), induction, electric and gas panels. Some of them have the same error codes, others differ due to a different energy source. Let's try to consider them all.

Induction hob errors

Noises when the induction hob is operating.

Reason: Induction heating sends electrical waves to the bottom of the cookware, causing the surface to vibrate.

Solution: This is normal operating noise and does not indicate any malfunction.

Unpleasant, low sound similar to the operation of a transformer

Cause: The burner is operating at a high power level.

Remedy: Reduce heat level or turn off work area.

Vibration or rattling of dishes

Reason: This noise is created by cookware made from layers of different materials.

Remedy: replace the dishes or change the product that is cooked in them. As incredible as it may sound, the type of product is also one of the factors influencing the sound produced by the panel.

Reason: all induction hobs are equipped with a fan that cools the panel and its parts. Depending on the degree of heating and the number of working burners, the noise level also depends.

Remedy: Even after the device is turned off, the fan will continue to run to cool down hot areas.

The device is equipped with a sensor to protect against overheating, so the burners, like the panel itself, can turn off for a while.

Error codeCauseElimination
Er03 or continuous beep soundThe control panel is dirty, there is water spilled on it, or there is an object on it.Clean the surface/remove foreign objects
E/2Device overheatingDo not touch anything and let cool
E/3The dishes have lost their ferromagnetic propertiesUse suitable utensils

Sensors do not respond to pressing and other actions

Cause: System failure or overheating due to prolonged operation.

Remedy: Disconnect the hob from the power supply for a few minutes, then connect it again and press the on/off key.

Sensors do not respond well

Cause: Panel dirty/strong external flashing light.

Remedy: Clean the panel and check that it is dry/remove the external light source or place the panel out of its reach.

The panel turns off by itself and an unfamiliar message appears on the display

Reason: the device is dirty/water has been spilled/there is a foreign object lying around.

Remedy: clean the surface/wipe with a dry cloth/remove all excess from the panel.

Electric hob

Cause: all cooking zones are set to 00/the control panel is dirty, water is spilled/there is a foreign object.

Remedy: if none of the burners is set to heat, it turns off/clean the panel and wipe it with a dry cloth/remove the item.

Sensors do not respond to touch

Reason: panel overheating, contamination, etc.

Remedy: Disconnect the device from the power supply, wait a few minutes and turn it on again.

Panel turns off and F symbol flashes

Reason: any of the sensors has been activated for more than 10 seconds.

Remedy: turn off the panels and start working normally.

Gas and combination hobs

Due to the nature of the energy resource used (gas), we urge you not to carry out repairs yourself and contact a service center! There is a high risk of explosion!

Even in the event of a minor breakdown (handles have fallen off, the burner has become loose, etc.), call a specialist by calling the warranty service number.

All of the above error codes, as a rule, do not pose a particular threat to the device and the person. But as practice shows, the main reason for their occurrence is neglect of caring for the panel and failure to read the instructions after purchase.

To avoid malfunctions and call a specialist, read the safety precautions and description of the device given upon purchase. Regularly clean the surface from carbon deposits and dirt. Do not place foreign objects or spill liquids, keeping it dry and clean.
